Aérea Negrot

An explosion of performance, sex and singing. Aérea Negrot juggles with her voice, stretching it to every extreme, from shrill highs to dark deep tones, she tastes the imaginable range and all vocal facets. In this way, she creates a collage of classical music infused with electro beats that fuse into a unique blend – a kind of techno opera. Born in Venezuela, Aérea knew from an early age that she would like to have wings. Sunday visits with her grandfather to the airfield in her hometown of La Guaira reinforced that feeling. That’s how she got her name, which is a tribute to all things flying. Coming from a family of dancers, she was influenced by dance and opera at an early age. As soon as she could, she took off. Her experimental musical journey took her to Europe. Via Porto, Amsterdam and London, she landed in Berlin in 2004, where she was discovered by Hercules and Love Affair. With the New York band, she found a new outlet and platform for her voice. In September 2010, Aérea Negrot’s first single All I Wanna Do was released on the Berlin label BPitch Control, as well as the long-awaited debut album Arabxilla on October 14, 2011.
