Aina Kaufmann is a director and filmmaker whose work is guided by a clear political and feminist focus. After studying political science at Freie Universität Berlin, she turned to film in order to make social realities visible and to critically question them. Her work deals with social justice, power structures, and resistance—always from an intersectional perspective. In 2023, she received an ASA scholarship and spent time in São Paulo, where she produced a promotional film on behalf of GIZ Brazil. Aina gained hands-on experience as a second assistant director on several TV and film productions, including ECHTfriends (Network Movie/ZDF, 2024), Fang mich doch! (Network Movie, 2024), and Farah (LOBOCITOfilm, 2024). She also expanded her on-set experience through work on feature films, music videos, and commercial shoots.

In addition to her work as a director and filmmaker, Aina has also moderated numerous conferences and events since 2022. In 2024, she led the panel The Soul of Our Stories at the Berlinale as part of the Berlinale Series Market and moderated the discussion Racist Realities – Racism in Art at Kunsthalle Rostock. Through her moderating work, she brings important social issues into public awareness and ensures that critical discourses take place. She also realizes her own film projects as a director, consistently implementing her vision of an artistic practice that engages with political questions. Her work as a filmmaker and moderator combines art and politics, opening up new perspectives on pressing societal issues.
At Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Aina is involved as a director in the Extended Cooperation Vol. I workshop.
