Ana Lucão Mvangi

Ana Lucão Mvangi is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores multilingual concepts of identity, Afro-diasporic lived realities, and literature.

Her fascination with language and literature began in her early years. As the daughter of an Angolan father and a Congolese mother, she grew up in a multilingual household. She studied Sprachpädagogik und erzählende Künste in der sozialen Arbeit at FHCHP in Potsdam, where she fell in love with creative writing.

As a poet, Ana Lucão Mvangi has contributed to the anthology Sisters and Souls 2 – Inspirationen durch May Ayim, edited by Natasha Kelly (2021), as well as Togetherness, published by Books Archive and Poetrymeets (2025).

Since 2021, she has also brought her spoken-word work to diverse stages, including Ballhaus Naunynstraße, where she was part of Even At The Risk (2022). In 2025 Ana Lucão Mvangi participates as a panelist in the talk and networking event Here to stay! at Ballhaus Naunynstraße—organized by the akademie der autodidakten as part of the festival Black Berlin Black – Festivity.
