Ashley Temba
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Ashley’s approach to dance and performance has always been rooted in a culture of direct expression, in the raw and rough. In 2011, he received a full scholarship to the Bates Dance Festival under the direction of Jennifer Archibald and trained with renowned teachers in ballet and contemporary dance. Ashley completed a residency at Tanzhaus Zürich under the direction of choreographer Tarren Johnson and performed for artists Bob Kil and Nina Beier at Haus am Waldsee.
He lives in Berlin and currently teaches at the Flying Steps Academy and Center of Dance. At Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Ashley can be seen as a performer in Flight of the Canaries (2023) by Bishop Black. Ashley Temba presents his portrait performance entitled As I Want at the Ballhaus Naunynstraße.
