Astan Meyer
Astan Meyer, also known as Astan KA is a Berlin-based performer, singer, songwriter, experimental rapper, dancer, actress, and event-curator. Born in France with Mali heritage, she embraces a double culture that led her to consider herself as a “child of reconciliation.” Her musical style „Gangsta Jazz“ blends vocal inspirations from different genres, such as jazz, hip-hop and drill. She is a member of the Berlin based collectives African Acid is the Future and Sonic Interventions. She explores themes of love, protest, identity, and universality. Astan has performed in musicals such as the HOODOO musical in Berlin in 2019, music theatre pieces with Mirah Laline (2023) and with Opera Lab (2026), as well as shortfilms such as INDIGO directed by Mona Okulla Obua in 2022 and TV shows. She co-founded Cult-Sup, an event series that pushes the afro-alternative art scene and ancestral knowledge. At Ballhaus Naunynstraße she performs in Arrival of the Village (2026).
