Bärbel Schwarz graduated with a diploma in acting from UdK Berlin in 2005 and completed her bachelor’s/master’s studies in jazz percussion at the Musikhochschule Basel in 2013.
She enjoys staying in various genres of performing arts, for example as a longtime member of the experimental music theater ensemble leitundlause. She can be seen as a musical performer and actress at the Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall, as the drummer of the rock trio Euphoric Elephants, as the mother of the gods Fricka in the Ring des Nibelungen at the Thalia Theater Hamburg or recently as the heartbreaker Morta in the singspiel Die Vegane Oper in Lucerne. She composes theater music and is musical director for various projects ranging from children’s theater to classics to trash performances.
