Celal Sert was born in 1968 in Aksaray, Turkey, and has lived in Berlin-Kreuzberg since 1970. He studied market and advertising psychology at the Free University of Berlin and subsequently worked as an advertising manager in the furniture retail trade in Berlin and Budapest, as a manager of a hypermarket in Düsseldorf, Ankara and Konya and as a club manager of a wellness/ SPA and fitness center in Berlin. Since 2006 he has been a freelance language teacher, interpreter and translator for German, Turkish and English. He also works as an actor for commercials, series and feature films and is involved in voluntary work, including psychological counseling in neighborhood associations. For the project Liga der Verdammten at Ballhaus Naunynstraße he stood on a theater stage for the first time.
