Dörthe Eickelberg

Dörthe Eickelberg graduated from the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and has been working in front of and behind the camera ever since. She was discovered by ARTE as the face and head of her own satire series, which she produced for Holtzbrinck Verlag. For twelve years, she toured Europe as the presenter of the daily science program Xenius and can now start every sentence with „I’ve already made a show about that.“ Dörthe even took her first wave in the service of science, and it was love at first ride. Her search for the few women in the surf resulted in the award-winning ARTE documentary series Chicks On Boards, followed by her book Die nächste Welle ist für dich. The production company Labo M, which she co-founded, is growing and thriving, and Dörthe is occasionally invited as a guest lecturer at film schools. From her stage experience in improv theater, she has developed tailor-made workshops that have taken her to Ludwigsburg, Mumbai, Shanghai and almost into space, when ESA was the client. She is currently starring alongside Richard Sammel in the experimental live improv film Schiffbruch vor Publikum. At Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Dörthe Eickelberg can be seen in the play Abdruckkörper (2022) by Yatri Niehaus.
