Dora (Yuemin) Cheng, trilingual playwright and theater worker, works and lives in Berlin, Beijing and Shanghai. Born and raised in China, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Writing at Shanghai Theatre Academy and her Master’s degree in Visual Language of Performance at Wimbledon College of Art on an international scholarship for Asian students. Her first play, Erupted, was selected as the first production for Shanghai Playhouse’s new New Writing program. She is a member of Immerging Playwrights of the Royal Court Theater, London. In 2020, the production of Junges National Theater Mannheim, Qingdao: a messy archive, in which she worked as a dramaturg, was nominated by nachtkritik.de for Theatertreffen 2021.
