Elona Beqiraj

Elona Beqiraj is a writer, political education consultant, journalist, and event curator. In und wir kamen jeden sommer, her volume of poems published by Resonar Verlag in 2019, she makes the long-term effects of war and migration accessible through poetry and takes on the question of (not) belonging in Germany. She also initiated and curated projects commemorating the victims of right-wing violence, including the youth project for Gorki X Weil wir nicht vergessen and the project Solange wir erinnern – Hanau Gedenken an Schulen.
“Continuities of right-wing violence challenge our own continuity: resistance in solidarity, now more than ever.”

At Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Elona Beqiraj was responsible for curating Fünf Jahre Gegenwart (Five Years of the Present), a special event in cooperation with the Heinrich Böll Foundation. In the same year, she took part in the Ballhaus Naunynstraße Extended Cooperation theater workshop, financed by the prize money from the 2023 Theaterpreis des Bundes. Here, together with Jenaba Samura, she developed a script for the Showing Extended Cooperation Vol. II, which has been part of the repertoire since fall 2025 under the title Your Baggage Unattended.
