Elyas Khan

Elyas Khan is an art and rock music composer and performer. He draws on his British-Indian-Pakistani heritage and growing up in the creative atmosphere of New York’s art, music and theater scene for his work. He is a Mac Dowell Fellow and has been awarded the „Meet the composer prize“. He has been invited to perform on projects by PS122, Mabou Mines, and St. Ann’s Warehouse in the US. With his band Nervous Cabaret, Khan has released several records on the Naive Records label and toured Europe and North America. Most recently, he has been signed to London-based label Barely Breaking Even Records and France’s Vicious Circle to release his solo work and has received funding from Initiative Musik Berlin. His most recent record Brawl In Paradise was written and recorded at Funkhaus Berlin Nalepastraße. Sag mal, dass wir nicht zu Hause sind is his first work for the theater.
