Gissauro

Gissauro

Gissauro is a non-binary artist, who builds his work from the intersection of urban dance and real life. His journey, which began over 13 years ago in hip hop, has expanded into idioms such as popping, waving, house, breakdance, and others, transforming these techniques into narrative tools for composing scenes, creating performative devices, and generating poetic encounters. Throughout his career, he has worked as a stage provocateur, judged dance battles, taught workshops, and collaborated on solo and collective projects. In addition to his own work, Gissauro is a member of the collective Elektras Boogie and the contemporary company Grupo de Rua, under the direction of Bruno Beltrão, working on creations that tour Brazil, Europe, and other territories. He also develops creative provocation projects such as Session Delas, a training and exchange space for dissident bodies, and MovendObjeto, an experimental battle that investigates dramaturgy based on everyday objects. A graduate of the Criar Institute of Cinema and New Media, he incorporates audiovisual elements into his compositions, exploring storytelling, framing, rhythm, and light as extensions of the body.

At the Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Gissauro was responsible for the dramaturgy for Gira, the portrait performance by Natasha Vergilio.
