Godehard Giese grew up in Hamburg. After studying German and Italian at the Humboldt University in Berlin, he studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1997 to 2001. He then spent two years in a permanent position at the Stadttheater Hildesheim, where he also gained his first experience as a director. Since 2003 he has worked as a freelance actor and director at various theaters (including Hebbel am Ufer Berlin, Schauspiel Köln, Sophiensaele Berlin, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Theaterhaus Jena, TiF Dresden) and for film and television productions (including Lila Lila, Tatort, Die Akte Golgatha, Viva Europa!, Der Novembermann ).
