The political scientist Hadija Haruna-Oelker lives and works as an author, editor and moderator in Frankfurt am Main. She moderates the Römerberggespräche in Frankfurt, the debate format StreitBar at the Anne Frank Educational Center and the Feminist Press Roundtable of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung . She writes a monthly column in the Frankfurter Rundschau. Together with Max Czollek, she also hosts the remembrance podcast Trauer & Turnschuh. Her work focuses on youth and social issues, racism and diversity research. Hadija Haruna-Oelker has translated The Hill We Climb by Amanda Gorman together with Kübra Gümüşay and Uda Strätling. She has won various media awards such as the ARD-Hörfunkpreis Kurt Magnus 2015 and the Medienspiegel -Sonderpreis für transparenten Journalismus 2021. She is also part of the journalists‘ association Neue Deutsche Medienmacher*innen (NDM) and the Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland (ISD).
