Hassan Akkouch was born in Lebanon. He was only two years old when he fled to Germany with his family. Since then, the family was threatened by constant deportations. The director described this fate and the special commitment of the family’s children and young people in the documentary Neukölln Unlimited, which won the Crystal Bear at the Berlinale 2010.
