Ibra Wane

Ibra Wane is an artist working at the intersection of directing, photography, and installation. Culture, societal norms and values, and the beauty of the ordinary lie at the core of Ibra’s interests.

His work brings together research, storytelling, and a strong visual sensibility across fashion, music, and sports. Ibra works closely with art institutions, brands, artists, and publications around the world, developing concept-driven projects.

At the heart of his practice is photography he uses it to express feelings and atmosphere with light, color and composition—often through the concrete reproduction of people, places, performances and everyday spaces.

He was responsible for the editing of the short film INDIGO (2023) by Mona Okulla Obua, which was shown at the festival Black Berlin Black – United Polyphonic (2023/24In 20025, Wane created his first work for Ballhaus Naunynstraße, creating the video design for the Porträtperformance Ashley Temba.
