İmran Ayata, born in Ulm in 1969, is a campaigner, cultural activist and author. The co-founder of Kanak Attak studied political science in Frankfurt am Main, was editor of the magazine Die Beute. Politik und Verbrechen publishes literary articles in magazines and anthologies in Germany and Turkey. In 2005, he presented Hürriyet Love Express (Kiwi Verlag), his first book, praised by literary critics as „German-Turkish post-pop literature.“ In 2011, his novel Mein Name ist Revolution (Blumenbar Verlag) followed, which met with great response in the media and was equally highly praised. In 2013, together with Bülent Kullukcu, he released the CD Songs of Gastarbeiter Vol. 1. Together with Neco Celik, he staged the play Liga der Verdammten at Ballhaus Naunynstraße in the same year. In 2015, his novel Ruhm und Ruin (Verbrecher Verlag) was published. Ayata is managing partner of a campaign agency in Berlin.
