Isaiah Lopaz
Isaiah Lopaz is a writer and an artist who’s work revolves around sexuality, U.S. history, pop culture and personal mythologies to sculpt new narratives, which present the Black body as the master of it’s history and the keeper of contemporary culture. He is also the founder of Him Noir, a blog about race, politics, and culture initially created as an online gallery for the artist’s photographic essay „Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Him”. Lopaz is interested in how projections of race are framed onto the bodies of people of color. His practise also involves collaborating with other individuals who are subjected to racism, documenting their experiences, and illustrating the many ways that race and racism move through various societies and cultures. Isaiah Lopaz was born and educated in Los Angeles, California and has been based in Berlin, Germany for the last ten years. He is currently producing a visual podcast exploring the lives, dreams, and stories of Black Queer people living in Europe.
