Jasmin İhraç was born in 1981, grew up in Cologne and lives in Berlin. After receiving her degree in Sociology at Freie Universität Berlin, Jasmin İhraç studied dance at the Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz (HZT) in Berlin (including projects by Boris Charmatz, Anne Collod, Rosalind Crisp und Eva Karczag, among others). She is interested in dance at the intersection of theory and practice and the interplay between art and political activism. The solo Trois Voies focussing on reconstruction and authorship was first shown at 2nd Biennale Tanzausbildung in Essen, followed by the Red Salon of the Volksbühne Berlin (Überstürztes Denken by Marcus Steinweg). With the performance collective fanni fractal she was a fellow of the Tanzrecherche NRW program at Brotfabrik Bonn. She performed in Anarchiv #3 Songs of Love and War by deufert+plischke (among others BIT Teatergarasjen Bergen, Kampnagel Hamburg, Tanzquartier Vienna). Since the project Autour de la Table she has been in close exchange with Çatı Dans Istanbul. Her solo iz-le premiered in March 2013 at Bethanien in Berlin (other 2013/14 venues: Çatı Dans Istanbul, Tanzfabrik Berlin, Schaubühne Lindenfels Leipzig). In addition to her choreographic and dance activities, Jasmin works as a research assistant in the DFG project Verzeichnungen.
