Johannes Suhm studied at the renowned Otto-Falckenberg-Schule in Munich. In addition to his wide-ranging work as a film and television actor, he also performs on the theatre stage.

Right from the start of his career he appeared in major film productions such as the highly acclaimed Sophie Scholl – Die letzten Tage (2005) by Marc Rothemund and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex (2008) by Uli Edel. In 2011, he appeared in the television film Friedrich – Ein deutscher König. This was followed by roles in Hitman: Agent 47 (2015), Tim Trachte’s Benjamin Blümchen-Verfilmung as well as in the productions Legal Affairs, Tina Mobil and Spuren by Stefan Krohmer.

After his first engagement as stage actor at Hans-Otto-Theater Potsdam he began to work increasingly in the independent theatre scene. He performed on several occasions at Gessnerallee Zürich, Ballhaus Ost in Berlin, HochX in Munich, Ringlokschuppen Mülheim as well as Mousonturm Frankfurt. In 2022, he worked with the African-American artist POPE L. on his work Between a figure and a letter at Schinkelpavillon Berlin.

His awards include the First Steps Award for his acting performance in Keine Gegenfrage and the award for Best Emerging Actor at Sat.1 Talent Class 2004. Suhm has also directed and produced two documentary films. His debut as a feature film director, based on Nis-Momme Stockmann’s play Der Mann, der die Welt aß, premiered at Hofer Filmtage 2020 and was released in German cinemas in 2022.

At Ballhaus Naunynstraße he appeares in Aesthetics of Color (premiered in 2019) by Toks Körner.
