Jonathan Kwesi Aikins, was born in Berlin in 1989. He gained his first acting experience at the age of 17 in the empowerment theater project „YoungStars – Real life Germany“. This was followed by engagements at the Staatstheater Mainz, the English Theatre Berlin, the Clingenburg Festival and the Maxim Gorki Theater. Cavo Kernich’s graduation film Mikel, starring Jonathan Aikins, successfully screened at the Berlinale – Perspektive Deutsches Kino as well as at the Achtung Berlin Festival. For this, he was nominated for the FIRST STEPS Award in the category „Götz George-Nachwuchspreis“ in 2017. In addition to acting, Jonathan Aikins gives workshops for children and teenagers, combining educational and acting approaches. Since 2008, he has been a co-founding member of Label Noir, a network of Afro-German cultural artists.
