Kadir Amigo Memiş

Amigo (born 1974 in Bilecik/Turkey) came to Berlin at the age of ten. Inspired by the emerging hip-hop culture of the eighties, he taught himself to dance on the street as an autodidact. In 1993 he founded the B-Boy Crew Flying Steps with his friend Vartan Bassil. In 1994 and 2000, the Flying Steps won the world championship title in the biggest international breakdance battle, the B.O.T.Y. (Battle of the Year) in Germany. Numerous titles from prestigious national and international battles followed. Amigo is co-founder of Dance-Unity, a communication platform that offers dancers worldwide an exchange forum. This is also how Funkin Stylez came into being, which is now the largest international hip-hop battle in Germany alongside B.O.T.Y.. He choreographed his first smaller solos in group works such as 2nd ID at tanzhaus NRW & mousonturm and in collaboration with choreographer Constanza Macras in Hell on Earth at Hebbel am Ufer.
