Kazım Erdoğan (* June 11, 1953 in Gökçeharman) studied psychology and sociology in Berlin. He has led Germany’s first self-help group for men of Turkish origin, known as the „Fathers and Men Group,“ since 2007. Since then, Erdoğan’s projects and his nonprofit association Aufbruch Neukölln, which he chairs, have repeatedly been the focus of media attention. After graduating, he worked for ten years as a secondary school teacher in Berlin-Tiergarten and then as a school psychologist in Schöneberg. Since 2003, he has been employed as a psychologist and social worker at the Psychosocial Service and provides counseling on behalf of the Neukölln district office. In 2012, Federal President Joachim Gauck awarded him the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his many years of commitment. Kazım Erdoğan is committed to participation and common coexistence in Berlin / Germany.
