Kemal Hür was born in 1968 in Eastern Anatolia and has lived in Berlin since 1980. After studying German language and literature, sociology, and theater and film studies at Freie Universität, he first worked as an interpreter. Since 2000 he has been a freelance journalist and works as a radio and television reporter mainly for public broadcasters, including the programs Kontraste (ARD), Abendschau (rbb), Funkhaus Europa (WDR, RB), Stilbruch (rbb), Inforadio (rbb), Kulturradio (rbb). The focus of his work is on migration policy topics.
