Laura Huonker (1981) is a Swiss theater director and cantonal councilor in Zurich. She directs as a freelance director at various municipal theaters in Germany and Switzerland (including 2014 at Theater Baden Baden Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s Angst essen Seele auf) and is a founding member of the independent theater company Rock the Babies (including 2016 Theater Neumarkt Showcase Realpolitik). Since 2013 Laura Huonker has been a lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK and, in relation to her theater work, has been trained as a practitioner in „Somatic Experiencing“, about trauma work according to Peter A. Levine (USA). Currently Laura Huonker is working in Zurich on Shakespeare Transit – ein kleines Welttheater mit Musik and is touring in an old VW bus with Rollendes Gewissen / Rolling Conscience, a street theater about the question: „What is conscience?“ by and with Rock the Babies.
