Lya Kifle is first and foremost a dancer and performer. She identifies with hip hop culture, but moves in different Afro-diasporic dance scenes from which she draws inspiration. She teaches weekly „Afrofusion“ (a collective term for various modern African dance styles) in Berlin, gives dance workshops throughout Germany and has been part of various dance projects.
Music and dance are inseparable for her. Already as an adolescent she developed a great love for music across genres. Her interest developed especially for rhythms and percussions. Two years ago she discovered her passion for playing drums.
