Manar El-Abed was born in Dortmund in 1976 and now lives in Montpellier. After many years in various Arab countries, he came to Frankfurt with his Syrian family in 1989, where he began to devote himself to various musical crossover projects. In 2001 he moved to the South of France, where he worked on various new band projects and from where he later launched the multilingual and multicultural project „Koalas Desperados“ with the Berlin producer Teka. The debut album „Legalize Eukalyptus „was released in 2009 on the Cologne label Rootdown Records. Manar is currently studying Applied Foreign Languages (Arabic/English) at Paul Valery University in Montpellier and works as a language teacher, translator and also as a DJ.
