Moritz Gagern has lived in Berlin since 1995. He is a freelance composer. As such, he has worked at several theaters, including the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, the Neuköllner Oper, the Schauspielhaus Bochum, the Schauspielhaus Dresden, the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel, and most recently the Bayerische Staatsoper. Solo projects away from the theater have included commissions from Maerzmusik, Festspielhaus Hellerau, TonLagen Festival, unmarked space, Laboratorio Novamusica Venezia, and Taipei Arts Festival. He has been working closely with A+B Tanzbau since 2011.
