Murti Yol was born in 1961 in Iğdir/Turkey; he came to Berlin in 1978. From 1979 to 1984 he was a member of the ensemble „Berliner Darsteller“; he performed at the Tiyatrom Theater Berlin, the Berliner Familientheater, the Theater der Jugend, the Ufa Fabrik Berlin, the Berliner Compagnie, the Berliner Ensemble as well as the Munich Kammerspiele, among others. In addition to numerous television roles, he appeared in the feature film Evet, ich will (2007) by Sinan Akkuş. At Ballhaus Naunynstraße he has already appeared on stage in Jenseits – Bist du schwul oder bist du Türke? by Nurkan Erpulat and Tunçay Kulaoğlu (Hebbel am Ufer, 2008, revival Ballhaus Naunynstraße 2008). Murti Yol also curated the Diyalog Theaterfest, which last took place at Ballhaus Naunynstraße in January 2009 and April 2010.
