Nizar Basal, born in 1968 in Masyyaf, Syria, studied mathematics and computer science at the University of Damascus. During his studies in Grenoble, he specialized in artificial intelligence. Afterwards, Nizar Basal studied statistics at the University of Maryland. He is a consultant in IT and statistics. For 22 years, Nizar Basal lived and worked as a scientist, statistician and consultant in Abu Dhabi. He developed several technical solutions for commercial kitchens. On the side, he is a musician and author. Since 2016 he lives in Berlin. Currently, he is in charge of the commercial kitchen in Tempelhof, which feeds 5000 people every day.
