Peter von Strombeck was born in Wiesbaden in 1957. After his acting training at the Otto-Falckenberg-Schule in Munich, engagements at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt, Kammerspiele Munich and the Residenztheater Munich followed. He appeared in guest performances at the Kammerspiele Hamburg, Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, Tourneetheater Düsseldorf. He is best known from film and television, where he attracted attention with popular German television series such as Tatort, Der Dicke, Soko Leipzig, Rosa Roth and Bella Block, and as a chief inspector in Polizeiruf 110.
