Philipp Khabo Koepsell is a spoken word artist and activist from Berlin with a German-South African background. In his pieces he speaks to everyday racism, the creation of new, self-determined spaces, and the distorted world of popular culture. He performs at various poetry events of the Black community, anti-racist demonstrations and academic conferences in Germany, the US and South Africa. His texts are written in German as well as English. He is the editor of the anthology Arriving in the Future. Stories of Home and Exile, non-academic member of Advanced African Studies at the University of Bayreuth, and author of the book Die Akte James Knopf. Afrodeutsche Wort- und Streitkunst.
