Ruth Reinecke was born in Berlin in 1955. After completing her acting training at what is now the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art, her first permanent engagement took her to Schwerin. Since 1979 Ruth Reinecke has been a member of the ensemble of the Maxim Gorki Theater. She has worked with directors such as Thomas Langhoff, Christoph Schroth, Sebastian Baumgarten, Jan Bosse and Stefan Bachmann. The Berliner Zeitung awarded her the Critics‘ Prize three times: for her performance in Iphigenie auf Tauris (1976), in Ma ..Ma ..Marlene (1990) and in Was ihr wollt (1991). Ruth Reinecke regularly appears in front of the camera for film and television, for example in the ARD production Weißensee.
