Shaymaa Shoukry is a multidisciplinary artist with a visual arts background, interested in integrating diverse disciplines in her creations involving choreographing, performing and creating video art. Collective work has always been a motivation and inspiration in Shaymaa Shoukry’s production. She is currently interested in researching the origin of movement, repetition and transformation. She always questions approaches and likes to share her artistic practices with the public from diverse backgrounds and various landscapes.

Shaymaa studied Visual Arts and Theatre at the American University in Cairo, and Dance at the Centre of Creativity, Cairo Opera House School (2006). Later on she completed the contemporary dance program at Studio Emad el Dien (2008-2011) as well as a teacher’s training at SEEDs (2012-2013). Shoukry is the artistic director and co-founder of Dayer Company for Artistic Productions based in Egypt.
