Turending Stelkens is queer, black, and agender. During the studies in ethnology and cognitive science in Freiburg, Turending focused on the construction of cultures and histories, intersectional identities, and decolonial theories. In search of black communities, Turending moved to Berlin and began a master’s degree in African Studies. Artistically, Turending moves between creative writing, performances and acting. As a performer, Turending can be seen in Magda Korsinsky’s production WERDEN at Ballhaus Naunynstraße and as a panelist in Cooperating in Difference as part of the Black Berlin Black – Festivity festival.
