Yezenia Léon Mezu
Yezenia León Mezu is a Black-Indigenous educator, translator and writer, whose work centers on Black intersectional approaches with a focus on the Black queer body, desirability politics, weight discrimination and religion. They hold degrees in Spanish Literature, Linguistics, and Religious Studies and engage in policy education on race and gender. Yezenia’s research addresses Antiblackness, the (de)coloniality of bodies and desire, intersex rights and Black Queer Theology. At Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Yezenia León Mezu participates as a panelist in the panel Widerständiges Feiern I: Feiern als politischer Akt, developed by Fabienne Mahwane.
