On the occasion of the publication of the anthology of the same name, the fourth edition of the series Arriving in the future presents a live music evening of black musicians with soul, funk, beatbox, jazz, Latin beats and poetry.
The author and spoken word artist Chirikure Chirikure from Zimbabwe presents self-written poems and songs, the Berlin-based singer/songwriter JoKaa focuses on rhythmic guitar playing, profound German lyrics and surprising soundscapes on his loop station. The Afro-German a cappella project Three Women by singers Jeannine Mayani, Gonza Ngoumou and Bona Mgoumou, which has enriched the Berlin music scene since 2010 with self-written songs and newly arranged cover versions inspired by Miriam Makeba, Abbey Lincoln and others, will also be performing. Armed only with harmonica, microphone and loop station, Wynton Kelly Stevenson creates his own harmonic universe somewhere between the Gorillaz, dub and jazz.
