BODIES OF KNOWLEDGE is an artistic analysis of corporeality and performance in the public space created by and featuring post-migrant protagonists and the artists Jair Luna and Simon(e) J. Paetau.
The performance project BODIES OF KNOWLEDGE focuses on the physical and choreographic forms of self-assertion and self-representation. The way our body moves and expresses itself as well as the gaze of people in our environment determines our identity. With BODIES OF KNOWLEDGE we want to explore these processes and investigate the self-determined performance of post-migrant protagonists in the public space.
Artists Jair Luna and Simon(e) J. Paetau encourage workshop participants to play with their identities through an exchange of experiences, elements of dance, and improvisation.
During the one-week project taking place on the square Heinrichplatz, a space for creativity and experimenting with self-determined performance is created. Bystanders become spectators and participants in the project ‒ movements are collected, deconstructed and abstracted.
