Die deutsche Ayşe - Türkische Lebensbäume

Ein Rechercheprojekt von Tuğsal Moğul

In his research project, Tuğsal Moğul, Theatre maker and physician, Westphalian and the son of Turkish immigrants, deals with the biographies of three first generation immigrant women from Turkey who spent the major part of their lives in Münsterland: three exciting female biographies, three assertive, courageous women, three role models, dauntlessly trying to settle into an often peculiar, initially terribly foreign and then homelike world. A theatrical contribution to the debate on majority society’s refusal of integration, which is rekindled time and again.

While politics and theatres tend to stage integration narratives as tragedies, Moğul simply researched three biographies and concentrates them on stage without dramaturgically bending them out of shape. (nachtkritik)
