In the past 50 years, approximately 300,000 Kosovans migrated to Germany. The book Sehnsucht im Koffer (A Longing in a Suitcase) relates some of these vagrant personal histories ‒ recorded by the Kosovan-German writer duo Jeton Neziraj and Timon Perabo. Gülçin Wilhelm, author of the book Generation Koffer (Generation Suitcase), andMenekşe Toprak with her debut novel Julikinder (Children of July), engage with the commuter children from Turkey whose parents also came to Germany half a century ago.
