Kiez-Monatsschau Vol. XIV
The NSU (National Socialist Underground) is allegedly responsible for nine racially motivated murders of citizens with migration background and for killing a female police officer, as well as for two bomb attacks and 14 bank robberies. But has anything changed in Germany since the terror cell was exposed on November 4th, 2011? What is the general public‘s reaction?
Usually, when political scandals are exposed, this has far-reaching consequences in politics. At the same time an extensive discourse addressing the incidents is initiated in society and the media. None of this happened in the case of the NSU murders. The Kiez-Monatsschau Vol. XIV captures voices and responses around this topic: in form of a political news show young post-migrants on stage go „on the air“ with a programme involving a host, introductory texts and video clips that were shot beforehand on public locations.
