Porträtkonzert: Biliana Voutchkova

portrait concert

Biliana Voutchkova studied classical violin and became involved with the New York scene of contemporary and improvised music during her first college years. In her work as a composer, performer and improviser she approaches the contemporary classical repertoire with the same inspiration and freedom characteristic of her forceful improvisations. Today she lives in Berlin and works for many solo and small group-projects. She also collaborates internationally with dancers, composers, improvisation and visual artists including the Solistensenemble Kaleidoskop, the Ensemble Modern, the Splitter Orchestra, Grapeshade, Louise Wagner, Matthias Bauer, Michael Thieke, Hans Peter Kuhn and many more.

After the concert with compositions by Sciarrino, Feldman, Ablinger as well as real-time compositions by Biliana Voutchkova herself, she will present a selection of video materials and discuss her work with the audience.“
