There’s a war going on in the animal kingdom. The North-American grey squirrel is setting about to oust the domestic red squirrel. It is stronger, more resistant and more potent. Sooner or later it will dominate the German forest. Simone Dede Ayivi examines the atmosphere that goes along with the demographic shift of squirrels. Fear of change? Fear of foreign infiltration? In the end, might it be a question of the right colour of fur? Or is it just that we prefer to keep everything the way it always was? Simone Dede Ayivi takes a performative walk in the woods with the help of her meticulously arranged multimedia squirrel archive.
