POETRY MEETS HIP HOP

The magic of POETRY MEETS Hip Hop not only lies in social criticism, emotional healing, empowerment, and solidarity, but also in the edutainment character of the night, a special mixture of mainstream and subversiveness.

With POETRY MEETS Hip Hop, poets and MCs, singer-songwriters and beatboxers, as well as comedians and filmmakers have found a space on a variety of Berlin stages to develop their talents while rediscovering a collective network within the community. Launched in December 2014, the successful event series provides a creative platform for local and international artists who position themselves within hip-hop culture.

In the past, artists such as DarkMatter (NYC), Yugen Blakrok (Soth Africa), Kenny Wesley (D.C.), Fatima Moumouni (Munich), JuJu Rogers, Moona Moon, Babiche Papaya, Amewu (Berlin) and many more have participated.
