Schizo!
A group of young people meet in a mental institution. ADHD, DMDD, bipolar disorder, borderline syndrome are the reasons for their institutionalisation. They are inside because being in the world outside apparently no longer works for them. But between kitchen duty, drug rounds and music therapy, they get to know each other better, sharing their own stories, fears and dreams.
Schizo! challenges the way mentally ill youth are treated in our society, takes a critical look at growing tendencies of conformity and once again poses the question: what or who is actually normal?
In a three-month long phase of rehearsals with director Salome Dastmalchi, the youngsters collectively developed the play Schizo!, which evolved out of improvisations and writing exercises.
The performance bubbles over with energy and vitality. (…) Schizo! Is dynamite! (RBB Inforadio)
