Together with the musician and composer Jean-Paul Bourelly, the SPONTANEOUS YOUTH ARKESTRA undertakes a journey to the possibilities in music of telling stories with sound and tones. The young post-migrant musicians of the ARKESTRA are especially interested and talented and engage with the experimental forms of expression in music. Bourelly employs the method of CONDUCTION (by Butch Morris), which was developed for spontaneous composing with large ensembles. They bring their sound compositions to the stage of Ballhaus Naunynstraße as a spontaneous happening.

Jean-Paul Bourelly was born in Chicago and started playing the guitar at the age of 13. He released several albums which made his sound successful internationally. At Haus der Kulturen der Welt he founded the Backroom Project (1999-2004), as well as being the music curator of the project Black Atlantic in 2004, and at Werkstatt der Kulturen he initiated the music library Spontaneous Situation.۝
