tchi-kudum: zoon politikon

by Regina Rossi

The dance performance tchi-kudum: zoon politikon is based on capoeira and explores the phenomenon of the group. Searching for what makes human beings communal and playful beings, the choreographer Regina Rossi dismantles the structure of the martial art capoeira into its individual parts and plays with endless repetitions and stereotypes. This raises the question: what constitutes belonging and what makes it fall apart?
tchi-kudum: zoon politikon is the native Brazilian’s first group choreography and the third part of her Trilogie der Erschöpfung (Trilogy of Exhaustion), where the young artist repositions Brazilian folk and popular cultures within contemporary choreography.

A co-production by Regina Rossi and Kampnagel Internationale Kulturfabrik GmbH.
