WASSIM MUKDAD & ARABIC MUSIC QUARTET

A concert

Tickets – 13 January 2019, 7 pm

The Arabic Music Quartet came together and was founded within Berlin’s trans-local music scene. Inspired by a wide variety of musical impressions and encounters in the city, the four musicians present a selection of compositions from the diverse repertoire of the Middle East with a new sound.

The Arabic Music Quartet comprises the oud (Arabic short-neck lute), the violin, the double bass as well as percussion. The songs and tunes performed by the quartet have spread from Arabic countries such as Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria over a period of more than 150 years but are also know from other countries in the region such as Turkey, Greece and Iran.

On stage at Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Wassim Mukdad (oud), Ayman Hlal (violin), Salam Alhassan (percussion) and Ahmad Hani (double bass) will present an exceptional concert taking us on a musical journey and narrating stories from the Middle East.
