In Auf dem Mars sieht die Welt so aus, author Patty Kim Hamilton depicts a sibling relationship, brother and sister, and the impact of political discourse on personal relationships. The dramatic text was created as part of the writing workshop Unconventional Signs – neue postmigrantische Theatertexte at Ballhaus Naunynstraße in the 2020 / 21 season. Two siblings, 16 months apart. The age difference hardly mattered. As a child, you adapt to norms, fashions, institutions. The social environment brings pressure, and suddenly decisions are made.
