Aloysius Itoka

Aloysius Itoka

Aloysius Itoka spent his childhood in Bonn, Germany. After high school in Monrovia, Liberia, he studied biochemistry at the University of Buffalo in New York. There he also trained in acting and dance. During this time, he performed with the renowned Dance Theater of Harlem at the Metropolitan Opera. He has lived and worked in Berlin since 1989, including as a solo dancer at the Friedrichstadt Palast in the revue City Lights. In 1992 he directed the satire Endstation Asyl, which he also wrote, at the Ratibor Theater Berlin. Since 1995, he has mainly worked as a freelance actor and narrator for television, including numerous roles in TV crime dramas (including Tatort and Polizeiruf 110). He appeared alongside Sepp Bierbichler in the 2006 film Winterreise. He dubbed the villain in the James Bond thriller Casino Royale.
At Ballhaus Naunynstraße he performed in Schattenstimmen (2008) directed by Nurkan Erpulat, Walking Large (2017) directed by Atif Mohammed Nor Hussein, Complex of Tensions (2020) by Jasco Viefhues, Courageux! Furchtlos! (2021) directed by Atif Mohammed Nor Hussein and Abdruckkörper (2022) by Yatri Niehaus.
